In this full-time role, you will play a critical part in providing trauma-informed care to a diverse clientele, ensuring they receive personalized therapeutic support for their mental health needs. Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to identify patients' trauma histories and inform treatment planning. \n
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans targeting trauma recovery and resilience-building techniques. \n
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). \n
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions to guide clients in processing trauma, developing coping mechanisms, and achieving healing. \n
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists and behavioral health specialists, to ensure comprehensive care for patients. \n
- Deliver crisis intervention and immediate support during trauma-related emergencies to stabilize and reassure clients. \n
- Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, coping strategies, and resources available for ongoing support. \n
- Maintain thorough and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards and participate in case consultations. \n
- Engage in professional development activities to stay current with the latest research and methodologies in trauma therapy. \n
You will work with a motivated and diverse patient population, primarily focusing on families and youth navigating trauma and its effects. Our practice offers a safe space for healing, promoting resilience and recovery among clients experiencing a variety of mental health challenges.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. \n
- Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. \n
- Strong foundations in trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed care approaches. \n
- \n
- Two years of post-licensure experience, particularly in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions. \n
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and familiarity with virtual therapy tools. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, complemented by a compassionate approach and the ability to remain calm in high-stress situations. \n
- A willingness to engage in training to work with couples, enhancing your skill set and service versatility. \n
