Registered Nurse RN - Medical Intermediate Care and Progressive Cardiac Care - Full Time Nights

Position Overview Job Category: Nursing – Registered Nurse. Work Shift/Schedule: 12‑hour evening to morning shift. Location: Northeast Georgia Health System. The unit is a 24‑bed Medical Intermediate Care (IMC) and Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU). Care is provided for a variety of intermediate medical patients and progressive cardiac care patients, including but not limited to: General medical patients requiring frequent monitoring. Patients requiring advanced respiratory support (BiPap, HiFlo Oxygen, Vapotherm). Endocrine emergencies requiring frequent monitoring. Gastroenterology monitoring. Alcohol withdrawal (CIWA score Chest pain, acute coronary syndromes, stable and unstable myocardial infarction. Heart failure and dysrhythmias. Clinical responsibilities include: Central venous pressure (CVP) monitoring. Removal of arterial and venous sheaths. Chest tube care and management. Arterial site management. Epidural/PCA management. Coordinate care for assigned patients to achieve clinical outcomes. Lead interdisciplinary rounds and facilitate smooth transitions across the continuum. Apply evidence‑based practice and improve clinical practice within specialty areas. Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Mentor new graduate nurses and provide formative feedback. Participate in unit council, quality improvement, and shared governance activities. Maintain competency in specialty procedures and advanced monitoring techniques. Support the 7 Cs of Caring (Compassion, Competence, Confidence, Conscience, Commitment, Comportment, Creativity). Achieve and maintain de‑escalation training certification as required. Minimum Qualifications Licensed Certified RN in the state of Georgia. Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) or nursing diploma. At least one year of RN experience. Demonstrated competence in RN I performance expectations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher. Experience in an acute care setting (Medical IMC, PCCU, ICU, or similar). Knowledge of cardiac care and hemodynamic monitoring. Experience with advanced respiratory support and endocrine emergencies. Familiarity with quality improvement and shared governance models. Physical Demands Lift up to 100 lbs occasionally. Carry up to 50 lbs occasionally. Visual tasks moderate (31–65% of time). Simultaneous kneeling, stooping, bending, standing, walking, and pushing/pulling frequently. Intensity of work frequent (31–65% of time). Requires reading, writing, reasoning, talking, and keyboarding.
