We are currently seeking applications for a full-time or part-time faculty role as an Academic Nephrologist within the Department of Pediatrics at our organization. We are looking for an exceptional board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Nephrologist to become part of a dynamic clinical program focused on diagnosing and treating children with kidney disorders. The selected candidate will join as the second or third member of our division, which plays a vital role in delivering clinical and academic services that align with the missions of our children's hospital and medical college. Our commitment to exemplary clinical care and recognized teaching excellence forms the foundation of our team.
The division manages an onsite Pediatric Dialysis Unit and actively participates in our comprehensive outpatient pediatrics program, which includes multidisciplinary and satellite clinics. Additionally, we benefit from a strong pediatric urology division, a transplant surgery program, and skilled interventional radiologists.
Our organization is a prominent academic medical center located in Albany, New York, the capital of the state. We serve as a Level I Trauma Center and are the regional center for all adult and pediatric specialties.
The Bernard and Millie Duker Children’s Hospital features a 60-bed NICU, a 19-bed PICU, and a newly established pediatric emergency department that opened in 2018, serving as the primary site for inpatient care provided by our division. Our medical college is a private institution that adheres to non-discriminatory practices as an AA/EOE employer. The successful applicant will have numerous opportunities to teach house staff and medical students and will be eligible for a faculty appointment at the medical college, with rank determined by qualifications and experience.
Situated in the vibrant Capital Region of New York, Albany boasts a culturally rich and environmentally diverse community with nearly 1,000,000 residents. The three cities in the region—Albany, Schenectady, and Troy—along with their suburbs, offer a variety of affordable, safe, and welcoming neighborhoods, complete with quality schools and active community organizations. Albany is home to several educational institutions, including the State University of Albany, the School of Public Health, Albany College of Pharmacy, Albany Law School, and various private colleges, providing a wide array of cultural events. The city is conveniently located within driving distance of New York City, Boston, and Montréal, as well as the scenic Adirondack Mountains, Lake Placid, Saratoga, and Lake George. It is an excellent place to raise a family and enjoy activities throughout all four seasons.
