Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical #26-17757 Cumming, GA RN-Registered Nurse // Med Surg Onsite Contract Starts 7/06/2026 13 weeks Night Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical (GI/COVID Unit) Facility: Northside Hospital Forsyth Location: 1200 Northside Forsyth Drive Cumming, GA 30041 Duration: 13 Weeks Schedule: Nights Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12s) Local Candidates: Not accepted within 50 miles of the facility Requirements Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience Current AHA BLS Certification (Required) ACLS Certification (Preferred) Unit Overview The Fifth Floor Gastrointestinal (GI)/COVID Medical/Surgical Unit at Northside Hospital Forsyth is a 34-bed acute care unit specializing in the care of gastrointestinal and COVID patients. The unit serves adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations and consists entirely of private patient rooms with telemetry monitoring capabilities. Adolescent Adult Geriatric Unit Features 34-bed Medical/Surgical GI/COVID Unit Telemetry monitoring capability Fast-paced acute care environment Clinical Systems Cerner EMR SBAR Communication Framework Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical/Surgical patients Monitor and assess patient conditions, including telemetry monitoring Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record Preferred Qualifications Experience caring for GI and COVID patient populations Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills Experience in telemetry-capable Medical/Surgical units Note: Candidates must meet all required certification requirements and possess recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience to be considered for this assignment.
