Associate Director, Salesforce Technical Architect

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks an Associate Director to lead Salesforce technical architecture and strategy for patient services platforms, primarily supporting cystic fibrosis initiatives. The role involves designing solutions, managing DevOps frameworks, and collaborating across cross-functional teams to optimize platform operations and drive healthcare technology innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, strategy, and technical initiatives for Mosaic Salesforce platform across disease areas
- Define and optimize DevOps framework and delivery operating model for patient services
- Facilitate architecture and design sessions with cross-functional teams to align on solutions
- Manage CI/CD pipeline, release scheduling, and production deployments with stakeholder coordination
- Coach Vertex colleagues and managed service providers while driving continuous operational improvements
Requirements
- 5+ years relevant work experience; 8 years preferred with related education
- Salesforce platform expertise with knowledge of Agentforce and AI automation tools
- Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience with GxP systems and compliance requirements
- Patient portal, cell and gene therapy, and supply chain systems functional knowledge
- Demonstrated vendor management and stakeholder engagement across multiple business units
- Expert-level knowledge of Agile SDLC, DevOps, and disaster recovery practices
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, software engineering, or related technology field
Compensation: $164,400 - $246,600 base
