Senior Software Engineer

Job Overview Fragomen, a leading global immigration services provider, is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Application Development team in the Technology and Innovation Lab in Pittsburgh. The role involves designing, implementing, and delivering web applications that support the global hiring and workforce mobility services. Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend services, REST APIs, and microservices using .NET Core, C#, Entity Framework, and SQL Server. Write high‑quality front‑end code with Angular, React, and TypeScript to create responsive and performant user interfaces. Implement secure authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth, and industry‑best security patterns. Use CI/CD pipelines for building, automated testing, and validating deployment readiness; support deployment activities as needed. Document system designs, solution approaches, and architectural decisions to ensure clarity and maintainability. Conduct thorough code reviews and promote code quality across the team. Leverage monitoring, logging, and performance profiling tools to ensure system reliability and proactively resolve issues. Collaborate in Agile teams, contribute to planning and estimation, and provide mentorship to support team growth. Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders to understand business needs and design solutions that directly support organizational goals. Qualifications Strong experience with .NET Core, C#, and backend API development. Hands‑on experience with Azure services and cloud‑based architectures. Proficiency with SQL Server, database design, tuning, and stored procedures. Solid understanding of microservices and distributed systems. Front‑end development skills with Angular, React, and TypeScript. Knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab pipelines, etc.). Strong understanding of secure coding practices and authentication standards. Excellent communication, documentation, and collaborative problem‑solving skills. Ability to understand business goals and design technical solutions aligned with them.
