Google Cloud Engineer

Please Read: This is a 6 month contract to hire position with a fortune 500 company. During the contract period, you can work remotely, but once you convert to a full-time employee, you will be required to work onsite in Springfield, MO. Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Engineer Summary Capstone IT is helping our client to find a Google Cloud Platform Engineer who will work with a small team to design, implement, and manage Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure while helping drive the organization's cloud adoption strategy. This individual will build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure deployments, support cloud migrations, and ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environments. Top 4 Skills Terraform & Infrastructure as Code Kubernetes (GKE) & Cloud Architecture Responsibilities Design and deploy cloud solutions using GCP services such as Compute Engine, GKE, and Cloud Run. Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines. Lead cloud adoption and migration initiatives. Automate infrastructure using Terraform or Deployment Manager. Monitor performance, security, and cloud spending. Troubleshoot cloud-related issues and support application teams. Document cloud environments, processes, and configurations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience). 10+ years of IT experience. 8+ years of cloud engineering experience. 5+ years of hands-on GCP experience. Experience building CI/CD pipelines. Experience leading cloud migration and adoption efforts. Strong Terraform, Kubernetes, Python, and Bash skills.
