Inventory Control Specialist
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate and timely inventory levels within the warehouse. This position requires a strong understanding of inventory procedures, data analysis, and vendor coordination. The role supports operational efficiency, cost control, and inventory accuracy.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including daily tracking, audits, and adjustments.
- Analyze inventory reports to identify trends, variances, and improvement opportunities.
- Implement and utilize inventory control systems such as barcoding or RFID.
- Collaborate with vendors and purchasing to maintain stock accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct financial analysis to reduce waste and optimize inventory levels.
- Use software (e.g., Nielsen) to track sales data and adjust inventory as needed.
- Coordinate with internal departments to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, as needed to support inventory activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external vendors.
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures and warehouse processes.
- Keyboarding and data entry proficiency.
- Organized and detail-oriented; able to work independently.
- Professional demeanor and ability to build vendor relationships.
- Basic math and analytical problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
- Forklift operator certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent walking and standing on concrete warehouse floors.
- Ability to work in cold storage environments.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and retrieve inventory from various warehouse levels.
- NIGHT SHIFT POSITION MUST BE ABLE TO WORK FROM 8:00 PM TO 6:00 AM
