CLINIC MANAGER

Arbuckle Memorial Hospital

Summary: Manage and oversee the dailyactivities and business of the office.

Qualifications:
  • Communicate in an effective manner, followwritten or verbal instructions and demonstrate good interpersonal skills todeal with team members, patients, and families
  • Possess skills necessary to understand medicalrecords and procedures and to communicate effectively with patents and staff
  • Competent in basic computer skills(Microsoft/Excel)
  • Possess basic math skills for daily depositreconciliation
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality incommunications
  • Familiar with policies and procedures regardingreporting and release of protected health information
  • Knowledge of medical billing processes
  • General insurance knowledge
Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
  • Ensure the office is open and ready for businessat the beginning of each business day
  • Ensure the phone and patients are handledappropriately
  • Provides oversight to ensure appointments arescheduled appropriately and new patients are given the proper insurance andpayment paperwork per office policy
  • Provides oversight to ensure patients aregreeted appropriately, registered on the computer system, and all necessaryinsurance information is complied along with all required patient forms
  • Provides oversight to ensure all diagnosticreports, correspondence, transcriptions, etc. is filed in the patient chart
  • Ensures the completion, storage, and security ofall clinic medical records
  • Monitor daily deposits and reconciliations
  • Provides oversight to ensure charges for servicesrendered are properly entered into the computer billing system
  • Manages Accounts Receivable effectively
  • Monitors receivable for incorrect contractualallowances, non-covered services and payments recorded on incorrect date ofservice. Prepares adjustment report whennecessary for approval
  • Monitors credit balances, prepares a request forrefunds as needed and presents for approval
  • Fields and answers questions from patientsregarding accounts. Replies to anyinquiries in a timely manner
  • Assist in securing any temporary employeesrequired to cover vacation/sick leaves
  • Supervises and/or trains employees in allclerical functions of the clinic
  • Ensures the department complies with the rulesand regulations of HIPPA, State and Local laws
  • Attend continuing education classes as requestedand required
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned, requested, andrequired
  • Ability to multitask and assist in office tasksneeded to insure excellent patient care and attention
Education and/orexperience:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1-year experience in bookkeeping, clerical, orapplicable computer training
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred
  • Prior Physician office coding preferred
  • Communicate verbally and in writing in English

Work Environment:

Employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, andreach with hands and arms. Employee mustfrequently be able to lift 25 pounds from the floor to waist level and mayoccasionally be required to lift 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision and the ability toclearly focus vision.
