AI Backend Engineer

Salary: $92,000 - 132,000 per year Requirements:

• We require 9+ years of backend or software engineering experience, including experience in a senior or lead capacity.
• We require strong hands-on experience with Node.js/TypeScript and/or Python.
• We require practical experience building AI agents and agentic workflows using LLMs.
• We require a strong understanding of LLM tool or function calling, prompt design, and AI evaluation techniques.
• We require experience developing and consuming REST APIs and working with event-driven architectures or services.
• We require a strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, and backend architecture.
• We require excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to work directly with Product and Business teams.
• We require experience leading or coordinating offshore engineering teams or pods.
• We require healthcare-domain experience and backend experience.
• We require the ability to work onsite in Rhode Island or Arizona, USA.
• We prefer experience with AI platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.
• We prefer experience with RAG, vector databases, embeddings, and AI orchestration frameworks.
• We prefer experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• We prefer familiarity with CI/CD, containers, Kubernetes, and observability tools.

• We design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js/TypeScript and/or Python.
