About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - ICU Profession: RN Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in ICU License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC; NIH and ABLS preferred Must-Have: Experience with ICU level of care Burn experience preferred Cardiac rhythm proficient Advanced skills in NIH and CRRT training Hemodynamic trained Description: This position is in the Burn ICU with a total of 6 beds. Patient ratios vary based on acuity. Staffing includes Charge Nurses, RNs, Nurse Externs, and Paramedics. Typical equipment includes Alaris IV Pumps and GE Cardiac monitoring equipment. Documentation is managed through Meditech. Scheduling requires 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period. Floating to similar units such as ICU, PCU, and CCU may be required, with agency staff prioritized for floating. Patient experience is a key focus, emphasizing courtesy and respect for all patients. Bedside shift report must be adhered to. Advanced certifications such as NIH, CRRT training, and preferred ABLS are advantageous. Procedures performed on the unit include debridement, dressing changes, line insertions, and post-operative care. The position emphasizes teamwork and multi-disciplinary collaboration. The staff fosters a family-like atmosphere that is travel nurse friendly. Critical care intensivists are present 24/7, supported by dedicated paramedics and virtual admission nurses. Additional technologies such as hyperbaric chamber services are available with trained staff.
