Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves working in a Med/Tele unit, providing high-quality care to patients with various health conditions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, collaborate effectively with a diverse team, and demonstrate a commitment to patient care.

Job Details

Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Required

Unit Information

Unit Type: Telemetry
Number of Beds: 25
Staffing Ratios: 5-6 patients per RN
Patient Diagnoses: Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Diabetes, Pneumonia (PNA), Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), Med/Surg Tele

Responsibilities

The Telemetry RN will be responsible for:

Monitoring and interpreting telemetry readings to manage patient care effectively.
Administering medications and treatments as prescribed, including titrating Heparin drips.
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Educating patients and families on health management and discharge planning.
Documenting patient information accurately using the Paragon Charting System, transitioning to EPIC in the near future.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Tele nursing experience.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
Skills: Excellent communication and time management abilities. Experience in a rural healthcare setting is preferred.
Additional Requirements: Ability to read EKG strips and collaborate with telemetry monitor technicians.

Additional Information

Candidates must be adaptable and prepared to float to all Med/Surg units as needed. PCTs are present to support the nursing team, and a Charge Nurse, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators are available for guidance and support.
