Job Title: Plumber / Pipefitter Job Description

This role involves working as part of a skilled plumbing team on industrial, commercial, and new construction projects. You will handle the full scope of plumbing and pipefitting activities, including trenching for pipe, installation, service work, water hook-ups, and other functions commonly performed within the plumbing industry. The position includes both service calls and new installation work, requiring a professional who can read blueprints, work safely, and deliver high-quality results.

• Work as part of a plumbing team on industrial, commercial, and new build projects.
• Perform all aspects of plumbing and pipefitting, including digging trenches for pipe installation.
• Install, repair, and maintain piping systems, fixtures, and related equipment.
• Complete water hook-ups and ensure proper operation of plumbing systems.
• Respond to service calls, diagnose issues, and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Carry out new installation work according to project plans, codes, and specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints and project documentation to plan and execute work accurately.
• Collaborate with other plumbers and apprentices to coordinate tasks and maintain efficient workflow.
• Follow safety procedures and best practices while working on industrial and commercial sites.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, safe, and organized condition.

• Hands-on experience in plumbing across industrial, commercial, and new construction environments.
• Proficiency in pipefitting, including installation, repair, and maintenance of piping systems.
• Ability to perform water hook-ups and ensure proper system functionality.
• Experience with PVC and other common piping materials used in plumbing applications.
• Capability to handle service calls, troubleshoot plumbing issues, and perform repairs.
• Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong understanding of plumbing industry standards, practices, and safety requirements.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team with other plumbers and apprentices.
• Journeyman-level plumbing skills, with a journeyman card considered a strong asset.

• Formal plumbing training or apprenticeship completion is beneficial.
• Journeyman card is a plus and demonstrates advanced proficiency in the trade.
• Experience working on industrial and commercial job sites is advantageous.
• Familiarity with service work as well as new installation projects.
• Comfort working from blueprints and project plans.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and site personnel.
• Reliability and punctuality to meet scheduled shift times and project deadlines.

This is a first-shift position, typically running from approximately 6–7 a.m. to 3–4 p.m., Monday through Friday. You will work primarily on industrial, commercial, and new build sites in a team setting alongside other plumbers and apprentices. The environment is hands-on and field-based, involving trenching, pipe installation, service work, and system hookups. Work is performed with standard plumbing tools and materials such as PVC piping, and requires adherence to site safety practices and coordination with fellow team members throughout each project.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kentwood, MI.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Kentwood,MI.
