Specialty: PACU - Post Anesthesia Care Discipline: RN Start Date: 10/05/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Job Summary A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is sought for a healthcare facility located in the Wausau region. This position involves providing post-anesthesia recovery care in a busy PACU environment, handling a variety of cases including general, spine, neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, and orthopedic procedures. The assignment spans approximately 13 weeks starting in October 2026, with expectations of providing high-quality patient care during recovery periods. Job Details Schedule: Days shift, 4x10 hour shifts with start times of 0730, 0800, or 0900, totaling 40 hours per week. Required Qualifications: WI Registered Nurse (RN) License, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), minimum of 2+ years PACU experience with recent hospital work, including post-cardiac and pediatric case experience. Must have electronic charting experience, preferably with Epic. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Additional Information: The unit has 14 recovery bays with a 1:2 patient ratio, averaging 35 patients per day. Responsibilities include stabilizing ICU patients, handling general and specialized cases, and performing post-anesthesia recovery procedures. Scrubs may be any color. The assignment includes a holiday rotation and on-call responsibilities with a 30-minute response time, including one night per week and every 5th weekend. Employees are expected to comply with hospital policies regarding vaccinations, including masks during flu season if declining vaccination. Experience Requirement: No minimum years of experience explicitly required beyond the stated qualification criteria.
