Description Cowell Steel Structures, LLC, is a growing steel building manufacturing business located in Pottsville, Arkansas. We are seeking a qualified individual for a purchasing assistant position. The ideal candidate for this position would be initiative-taking, organized and detail oriented. You will report directly to the purchasing manager and provide administrative support throughout the procurement process. This role also works closely with other departments to ensure timely delivery of stock/project orders. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical in this role. Job Responsibilities Maintains records of goods ordered and received. Builds and maintains relationships with vendors. Evaluates vendors based on quality, timeliness, and price. Schedules deliveries and ensures timely fulfillment of orders. Monitor inventory and determine supply needs. Ensures quality of procured items and addresses problems when they arise. Prepare quotes and purchase orders. Negotiate with vendors to receive the best price on goods. Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among suppliers. Assist in cycle counts. Receive and distribute internal orders. Resolve order discrepancies. Provide administrative support such as, but not limited to, phone coverage, greeting customers and vendors, scanning documents, and other related duties as required. Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements Bachelor’s degree in business administration or equivalent experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
