Job Summary
Medical Surgical Float Position — Location unspecified. This role involves assisting nurses by performing basic care activities essential to patient comfort and personal needs. The position requires supporting patient hygiene, ambulation, vital sign documentation, and transportation, ensuring adherence to standards of practice.
Job Details
- Position Description: Assists nurses by performing various basic care activities related to services essential to caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
- Certifications and Education Requirements: Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education. Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant in accordance with laws of this state. Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
- Experience: 0 years minimum required.
- Specialty: Medical Surgical Float Position.
- Shift Information: Rotating shift; 8 hours per shift; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Includes preparing food trays, feeding patients, recording food and liquid intake and output, sterilizing equipment and supplies, and maintaining confidentiality of resident care information.
- Qualifications: Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English; demonstrate knowledge and skills for age-related resident care; work effectively as part of a team; make independent decisions; and relate information concerning a resident’s condition. Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds and meet all physical and sensory requirements of the job.
