Shape How Capital Gets Deployed — Without Writing Checks Initio Raise powered by Initio Capital Remote · Independent Contractor · Flexible Engagement About the Role Initio Raise is building a network of Investors in Residence (IIRs) —experienced angels, VCs, and capital allocators who help guide the next generation of investors inside our ecosystem. This is a coaching and influence role , not a capital deployment role. You’ll work directly with angel investors and emerging fund managers , helping them evaluate deals, refine their investment thesis, and make better decisions—while gaining access to curated deal flow and a growing investor network. You bring judgment and experience . We provide deal flow, infrastructure, and distribution . What You’ll Do Coach angel investors and emerging managers on deal evaluation and decision-making Guide investors on portfolio construction, check sizing, and diversification strategy Help refine investment theses and sector focus Break down real opportunities (strengths, risks, positioning) Host investor education sessions, roundtables, and discussions Support onboarding and development of new investors in the ecosystem Refer accredited investors into Initio’s investment platform, SPVs, and syndicates What You Get Access to curated startup deal flow across stages Full visibility into Initio’s 300+ investor network Ability to shape how capital is deployed across the ecosystem Positioning as a thought leader within an active investor community Referral commissions on investors you bring into the platform Optional pathways into: SPV participation or deeper investment roles Compensation Flexible structure based on involvement: Optional stipend for consistent engagement Referral commissions on onboarded investors Non-linear upside through ecosystem participation and deal access Who This Is For Active or former angel investors, VCs, or fund managers Finance professionals with strong investment judgment Operators who’ve transitioned into investing Individuals passionate about teaching, coaching, and capital allocation Those who want to stay active in venture without deploying capital full-time Ideal Candidate Experience evaluating startup investments (angel, VC, or institutional) Strong understanding of risk, return, and portfolio strategy Ability to clearly articulate why a deal works (or doesn’t) Comfortable leading discussions and educating groups High credibility and signal within investor or startup communities Why This Role Exists Structured decision-making frameworks Pattern recognition Investor in Residence solves that.
