Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer Alarm Response Patrol in San Jose, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a dynamic retail location, where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for guests and staff. This role offers the chance to deliver outstanding customer service and communication while working with an agile, reliable, and innovative team that puts people first and acts with integrity.

- Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, location-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or customer concerns in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, and report activity according to site protocols.
- Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout common areas, entrances, exits, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and high-traffic areas, assist with crowd observation during busy periods, and communicate with site contacts regarding security-related matters.
- Support daily operations by documenting incidents, completing assigned reports, and following Allied Universal standards and post instructions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
