Research Program Coordinator

The Research Program Coordinator will coordinate research projects for Dr. Earlise Ward's research team at the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. Ward's Community Wellness Initiative (ComWell) conducts community engaged mental health research focused on underserved groups. Dr. Ward and her research team also collaborate with researchers at the Carbone Cancer Center and the Center for Healthy Minds. The Research Program Coordinator will work directly with study team members, collaborators, stakeholders and underrepresented racial and ethnic minority research participants to ensure that all study objectives are met. This position requires excellent administrative, organizational, written communication and interpersonal skills, cultural humility, as well as independence in planning, organizing and implementation. Work schedules may include evenings and weekends based on operational needs and position expectations.
This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
Must provide a valid driver's license. Employees may use their own transportation or receive approval for University Car Fleet usage. Coordinates the daily activities and contracts related to one or more research program
Plans, develops and implements processes and protocols to support research aims
Assists in the development, coordination, and facilitation of trainings and workshops for internal and external audiences to disseminate research program development and information
Monitors program budget (s) and approves unit expenditures
- Interacts with study participants and community engaged stakeholders, conducts data collection, and monitors participants throughout study

Serves as a unit liaison and subject matter expert among internal and external stakeholder groups, collaborates across disciplines and functional areas, provides program information, and promotes the accomplishments and developments of scholars and research initiatives
Develops policies, procedures, and institutional agreements on behalf of the program

The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health (DFMCH) at the University of Wisconsin is a leading clinical department within the School of Medicine and Public Health. Compensation:The starting salary for the position is $67,413 annually; but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:-
Experience coordinating complex research projects. Preference will be given to experience in community engaged research and outreach, with public/community health, and/or mental health.
Experience collaborating with study team members, collaborators, community stakeholders and research participants using community engaged processes
Knowledge of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and experience with grant funding and budgets

Familiarity with University of Wisconsin-Madison research administration systems, institutional policies, and procedures related to human subjects research, budgeting, and project operations.
Experience with REDCap database or other research database and data quality management
Bachelor's Degree preferred; focus in psychology or sociology preferred
