Diesel Technician

Salary: USD70000 - USD70000 per year Employment Type: Full-Time Pay Rate: $28.00 - $35.00 Per Hour based on experience Position Summary Seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our service team in Ontario, California. The Diesel Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment, tractors, construction equipment, utility vehicles, and related machinery. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our customers' equipment operates safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and experienced in troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, diesel engine, and powertrain systems. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and drivetrain components. Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service on tractors, construction equipment, and related machinery. Conduct inspections and identify equipment issues accurately and efficiently. Utilize diagnostic software, service manuals, and testing equipment to determine root causes of equipment failures. Complete warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer standards. Document repair findings, labor hours, parts usage, and service recommendations. Perform safety inspections and ensure all work meets company and manufacturer quality standards. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts Department personnel, and customers regarding repair status and recommendations. Participate in ongoing technical training to stay current with equipment technology and manufacturer updates. Assist with field service calls as required. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED. 2+ years of experience repairing diesel engines and heavy equipment. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems. Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Valid California driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment. Preferred Experience with Kubota, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or compact utility equipment. Technical school or diesel technology certification. ASE, Kubota, or manufacturer certifications. Welding and fabrication experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
