Athletic Trainer (Football)

Job Summary Perform and supervise a variety of activities involving the physical care of and sports equipment support for Georgia Tech intercollegiate sports athletes. May include prevention and treatment of injuries; therapy, coordination of medications, first aid/CPR training, equipment movement and storage; and liaison with physician and healthcare facilities. Specific duties may vary based on sports team assignments. This position will interact on a consistent basis with training staff, student athletes and coaching staff. This position typically will advise and counsel student athletes, student trainers, and may supervise training staff members. Responsibilities Perform first aid, treat or refer injuries. Assist in rehabilitation efforts. Maintain and furnish safety equipment and supplies. Provide first aid and CPR training to staff and coaches. Liaise with outside physicians and healthcare facilities and services regarding healthcare delivery. Prepare and maintain training records and reports. May supervise and provide work guidance to training staff members. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education: Master’s Degree in Athletic Training or an accredited educational program recognized by the National Athletic Trainers Association – Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer. Certifications or licenses: Certification from the Board for Athletic Trainers, CAATE, NTA, or another accredited body for athletic trainers. Experience: One to two years of job‑related experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This job requires a working knowledge of preventive physical care for athletes, injury treatment and rehabilitation methodology as applied within an intercollegiate sports program environment. Also required are skills in supervision, first aid and CPR. Other Information Location: Atlanta, GA Job grade: S6 This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will be required to drive. This role is considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P‑Card). This position may travel 1%–24% of the time. This position does not require security clearance.
