Business Development Manager
Transportation & Logistics

Position Summary

We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across North America. This role is ideal for a proven transportation sales professional with experience selling truckload, LTL, drayage, intermodal, expedited, and freight brokerage solutions. The successful candidate is a self-starter who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, and closing new business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, referrals, and customer meetings.
• Build and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities from initial contact through contract execution.
• Sell transportation solutions including truckload, LTL, drayage, intermodal, expedited, flatbed, refrigerated, oversized, and project freight.
• Understand each customer's shipping requirements and develop customized logistics solutions.
• Prepare pricing proposals and negotiate contracts and service agreements.
• Collaborate with operations to ensure a smooth onboarding process and exceptional customer service.
• Grow existing customer relationships by identifying additional transportation opportunities.
• Maintain accurate sales activity, forecasts, and pipeline updates within the CRM.
• Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and gross profit objectives.
• Stay informed on freight market trends, pricing, capacity, and competitive activity.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of transportation, freight brokerage, or 3PL sales experience.
• Proven success generating new business and exceeding sales goals.
• Existing relationships with shippers are strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of truckload, LTL, intermodal, drayage, expedited, and supply chain solutions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing book of business.
• Experience selling transportation services to manufacturers, distributors, retailers, consumer goods companies, food and beverage companies, automotive suppliers, or e-commerce businesses.
• Knowledge of transportation pricing and carrier procurement.
