Continuous if date is blank.Note: Applications will be accepted until 11:59 PM on the day prior to the posting end date above.**Estimated Appointment End Date (Continuous if Blank)****Full/Part-Time**Full time**Job Type**Regular**Compensation****Job Description****Salary Range:** $52337.00 - $57208.00Note: Starting salary will be determined based on education and experience**Basic Purpose:** The Oklahoma Military Department is a state agency responsible for the administration of the Oklahoma Army and Air National Guard to ensure units and personnel are readily available when called to support the state and nation. It’s a unique state and federal relationship accomplished through various Cooperative Agreements with the National Guard Bureau. This accounting position is an integral part of that process assigned to the Comptroller Division working closely with the accounting staff and members of the federal programs. The Military Department prides itself on customer service and the ability to work together as a team.**Benefits**: This is a full-time state position that provides a percentage of matching contributions to employees’ retirement plans, 11 holidays, and a minimum of 15 days of annual and sick leave per year. The state also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a benefit allowance to offset the cost of insurance premiums for employees and their eligible dependents.**Essential Functions:*** Review and process all agency invoices for payment, not including utilities; reconcile various financial reports and other data concerning fiscal operations.* Coordinate closely with the accounting supervisor on the status of funds.* Work with the asset manager to ensure equipment is coded correctly in PeopleSoft prior to processing an invoice.* Process utility invoices/payments* Scan and maintain files of source documents and other information related to accounting.* Assist with processing incoming mail, prepare warrants for distribution, and handle bank deposits.* Process and audit individual purchase card transactions in accordance with policy and procedures.* Process the monthly P-Card voucher for the agency.* Make travel reservations and process travel vouchers for assigned personnel.* Participate in state and federal audits as required.* Represent the agency at public and private sector meetings in a professional and courteous manner.· Additional duties as assigned.· **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**: Knowledge of:o Oklahoma Peoplesoft Financials;o Bookkeeping practices and standards;o Modern office methods and procedures, including computer technology related to accounting.· Ability to:o Review and analyze financial information;o Work as a team member or when necessary, work independently with limited instruction/supervision;o Communicate effectively with staff and customers;· Skills:o Strong computer skills specifically with Microsoft Excelo Professional and courteous customer service;o Detail-oriented and organized.**Experience and Education:** Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field plus 3 years of experience in performing professional accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience**Conditions of Employment:*** Contingent on a favorable background check* Contingent on a favorable pre-employment drug & alcohol screening* T1 Security Clearance (eligibility for national security positions shall be granted only to persons who are U.S. citizens).* Must maintain a valid driver’s license* FLSA Exempt status* Serves a 12-month probationary period* undefined**Physical Requirements**: Sitting for long periods of time**.** Computer work for long periods of time. Able to lift fifteen (15) pounds.**Notes**: This position is located at the Joint Force Headquarters-State Accounting section in Oklahoma City, OK. Travel may be required at the expense of the employee to be reimbursed within 45 days of travel. Employment eligibility verified through e-Verify (Homeland Security), and a National Agency Check for positions that require computer access.
