Position Overview TheContentSpecialist provides strategic support to ensure that DYCD-funded after-school programs deliver high-quality,outcome-driven learning experiencesin the Compass program.Thisroleleadscurriculumdevelopment andinstructional quality.TheContentSpecialist works closely with Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and site leadership to ensureenrichmentactivities are well-structured, culturally responsive, and aligned with DYCD COMPASS and SONYC frameworks. In collaboration with NYC Reads initiatives and NYCPS day school partners, theContentSpecialist supports literacy integration and evidence-based instructional practices that reinforce student learning beyond the classroomandplays a critical role in advancing positive youth development outcomes across the Replications, Inc. network. This position reports directly to the Regional Program Managerand willrepresentReplications, Inc. in meetings with school, DOE, vendor, and community partners. KeyResponsibilities Responsibilities include the following and may bemodifiedto support program operations and overall program success: Plan, implement, and evaluate enrichment programming across assigned COMPASS program sites in alignment with DYCD Required Content Areas (e.g., Literacy, STEM, Arts, Leadership, Civic Engagement, and Health & Wellness). Develop, adapt, and implement curriculum and lesson plans aligned with DYCD COMPASS standards, Replications' organizational goals, and NYC Reads initiatives across assigned COMPASS programs. Coordinate with NYC Public Schools principals, administrators, and school staff to align after-school programming with school-day priorities. Manage partnerships with vendors, subcontractors, and community-based organizations to support enrichment programming. Supervise, coach, and provide ongoing support to Activity Specialists, Group Leaders, and Assistant Group Leaders across assigned COMPASS programs. Conduct regular site visits, activity observations, and program quality reviews to ensure high-quality program implementation. Provide coaching, feedback, and instructional guidance to improve lesson delivery and overall program quality. Design andfacilitateprofessional development and staff training sessions. Monitor attendance, participant engagement, and program performance metrics across assigned programs. Integrate literacy, social-emotional learning (SEL), and positive youth development best practices into all programming. Maintain curriculum, observation, coaching, and evaluation documentation to ensure compliance with DYCD, Replications, and organizational quality standards. Analyze program data in partnership with the Chief of Continuous Improvement and implement continuous quality improvement strategies. Ensure all programming is inclusive, culturally responsive, developmentallyappropriate, and aligned with youth development best practices. Participate in management meetings, planning sessions, and organizational professional development. Perform other duties as assigned to support the successful operation of the COMPASS programs. Hours may vary based on schoolassignmentand program needs. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, Curriculum Design, or related field,required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory or instructional leadership experience in after-school programs, youth development, or educational programming. DOE Fingerprinted StatewideCentral Registryclearance Department ofHealthclearance Qualifications Experience working with or coordinating alongsideNYCPS staffand supporting literacy-focused initiatives such asNYC Reads. Demonstrated experience incurriculum development, staff coaching, and instructional supportwithin youth or educational programs. Experience managing or collaborating withvendors, partners, or enrichment providers. Familiarity withDYCD COMPASS and SONYC program frameworks. Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and written communication skills. Proven ability to collaborate with diverseteams. Ability toeffectively engage youth from varied cultural and community backgrounds. Approach to Work Strong commitment to educational equity.
