The RN may serve as primary RN, circulator, or monitor for these procedures. The department maintains a strong AMI program, and the RN directs and serves as a resource to other members of the healthcare team as assigned.Promotes compliance and supports policies. Autonomous nursing care is the ability of a nurse to assess and provide nursing actions as appropriate for patient care populations based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge. Independent judgment is expected to be exercised within the context of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care.While not required, a cover letter is highly recommended when applying to this position.Minimum QualificationsGraduate from an accredited school of nursing.RN License issued by the State of California.BLS/CPR and ACLS certification at time of hire with commitment to get ART within six (6) months of hire date.Moderate Sedation certification within three (3) months of hire.Two years Cath Lab RN experience.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Ability to take call and work variable locations and shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays, per department needs.Ability to wear a lead apron (up to approximately 15 lbs).Ability to work in an environment with radiation exposure.Ability to respond within 30 minutes of STEMI activation.Excellent skills to communicate and influence effectively with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, and external constituents, both verbally and in writing.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibility, and to quickly assess moderately complex problems and develop potential solutions.Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment while consistently demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and kindness toward staff and patients.Adherence to UCSD Health Medical Center (C.A.R.I.N.G.)
