We provide an integrated system of healthcare experts committed to providing exceptional care.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related fieldExperience in specialized areas such as vascular, obstetric, or cardiac sonographyAdditional certifications such as Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)Responsibilities & RequirementsThe Ultrasound Tech II performs advanced diagnostic ultrasound examinations to support accurate diagnosis and treatment, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality imaging. This role collaborates with physicians and care teams, assists in complex procedures, and upholds regulatory and accreditation standards. Performs other duties as assigned. All job responsibilities are to be carried out in alignment with Kettering Health's mission, vision, values, and B Safe program.Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related field from an accredited programMinimum of 1 year experience as a registered ultrasound technologistCertification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Sonography (ARRT(S))Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (must be obtained prior to independent patient care)Skills:Proficiency in performing and interpreting a variety of ultrasound proceduresoperation and troubleshooting of ultrasound equipmentstrong communication and patient service skillsability to analyze images and document findings accuratelyknowledge of HIPAA, infection control, and safety protocolsability to mentor and train othersadaptability in a fast-paced clinical environmentCompetencies:Employee has basic knowledge of radiation safetyEmployee demonstrates understanding of the usage of equipmentEmployee demonstrates proper patient identificationEmployee demonstrates consistent hand hygiene practices
