Compensation Starting Pay Range: $20.22 Hourly Overview The Assistant Store Manager supports daily operations of one or more self‑storage locations, working under guidance from the District and Store Managers. The role ensures high cleanliness standards and operational excellence while building customer relationships and driving sales. Responsibilities Build and maintain strong customer relationships by identifying storage needs and providing tailored solutions. Maximize sales objectives through unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies. Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness by continuously maintaining the site, office, interior and exterior of the storage building, and surrounding areas. Perform daily site safety inspections, including lock checks. Address and resolve customer concerns related to billing, security, auctions, and proper site usage. Handle cash transactions, balance receipts, follow up on delinquent payments, process customer payments, and complete daily bank deposits. Protect company culture by establishing and maintaining professional relationships with all Extra Space employees. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications 1+ year of customer‑facing work experience. Sales experience preferred. Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle (except in New York City and Brooklyn). High School diploma or GED required; college education is a plus. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Perform indoor and outdoor tasks ranging from sedentary desk work to physical exertion with varying demands and seasonal weather exposure. Regular standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending, sitting, and lifting. Regularly required to lift or move items up to 35 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Benefits Competitive starting pay.
