Horizon Staffing Resources is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher for a private school setting in Union, NJ. The Special Education Teacher will work with students ages 3–21 with disabilities, supporting academic, behavioral, and social development in a structured classroom environment.
Hours/Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
- No evenings or weekends
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals
- Provide individualized and small group instruction
- Modify teaching strategies based on student progress
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance
- Promote a safe and structured classroom environment
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and Child Study Teams
- Participate in IEP meetings and planning
- Support classroom staff and supervise students as needed
- Assist with community-based and work-based learning activities
Requirements
- NJDOE Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TOSD) or Teacher of the Handicapped (TOH) certification
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Experience with ABA programming is a plus
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Valid NJDOE certification (TOSD or TOH)
- K–6 or P–3 certification required
