Functional area: Project Management Remuneration: Exempt Overview The Senior Preconstruction Project Manager prepares onshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects for construction. The role ensures that required engineering is complete for bidding, construction estimates are developed, civil permits (including utility crossing agreements) are in place, owner‑supplied equipment is allocated, interconnection processes are scheduled, O&M needs are integrated into the BoP contract, scopes of work are aligned, lessons learned are incorporated, the project is derisked, and contractors can mobilize and proceed unencumbered toward completion. Responsibilities Coordinate with Engineering to ensure timely completion of geotechnical reports, wind civil engineering (foundations, roads, etc.), HV, PV, and BESS engineering (including fire requirements) to allow bidding at a minimum 60% PV drawings and 100% HV drawings for solar/BESS and IFC drawings for onshore wind projects. Coordinate with Development to obtain required topographic and ALTA surveys to allow engineering to proceed. Manage internal timelines and third‑party engineers to produce necessary work. Participate in the site optimization process (responsibility of the Solar Engineering Team). Provide timelines for when the site layout must be provided per the project schedule. Prepare permitting plans for civil‑related permits with Engineering and Development. Prepare necessary documentation for SWPPP and building permits; assist with road‑use agreements or other discretionary permits. Prepare interconnection plan with Engineering, Transmission, Global Data Management, and Compliance to include all tasks, equipment, and testing required for interconnection of the facility. Coordinate with O&M to ensure that proper O&M facility is specified, the initial spares list is established, and other O&M initial project set‑up requirements are captured in the BoP scope of work. Assemble scopes of work from required Engineering teams and review them with Project Execution and Engineering teams to eliminate scope gaps. Coordinate with Procurement to ensure necessary engineering, scopes of work, and documentation are available for bidding or contractor negotiations. Job Requirements Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction‑related field from an accredited university. Minimum of 10 years of experience in renewable‑energy construction, engineering, and project management. Ability to understand contractual requirements, insurance provisions, and coordination of scopes of work between PV plant, HV, and BESS. Ability to use experience and knowledge to mitigate risk and eliminate issues. Ability to use documentation, contract language, and engineering drawings to refute or mitigate change orders. Preferred: engineering degree and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Work distribution: 50% office‑based, 25% office environment with team meetings, and 25% development or site visits.
