divh2Speech and Language Pathologist/h2pBargaining Unit: ETA Department/Location: Special Education Work Days: 184 Reports To: Assistant Director of Special Education JD Revision Date: 06-14-2023 Supervises: N/A/ppFunction / Position Summary:/ppTo work with parents, students, and staff in order to prevent, identify, evaluate and remediate a wide range of oral communication problems, including articulation, voice, fluency and language disorders./ppJob Duties / Responsibilities:/pulliPrevention can include consultation, in service training, and speaking with parents and parent groups./liliIdentification can include pre-referral (student support teams), screenings, and referrals for the evaluation process./liliAssessment may include data collection through standardized or non-standardized measures, interpretation, report writing, sharing results with parents and staff, determining eligibility for services, and developing IEPs./liliIntervention can include caseload management (scheduling), direct remediation within the educational setting, pull out services, consulting on academic and social issues, developing ongoing goals, documenting progress, collaborating with classroom teachers, and holding annual review meetings./liliCompleting caseload records for special education funding./liliMaintaining student IEPs and evaluations on web-based computer program./liliAbility to work collaboratively in a team setting./li/ulpEducation:/ppIllinois Certificate with Speech and Language Pathology endorsement (Type 73 or Type 10 or Type 03/09). Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Speech Language Pathologist License. Masters degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology./ppEnvironmental Conditions:/ppMust work in noisy and crowded environments. Indoors or outdoors in a busy school environment. Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions. May be required to leave main work site to attend meetings. Public contact requiring appropriate business-like apparel./ppPhysical Demands:/ppRequires prolonged sitting or standing.
