Project Overview:

Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology (M&T) Business Unit is designing and building an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) Manufacturing Facility located at Generation Park in Houston, TX. Job Summary:

In this role, you will support planning, coordination, inspection, documentation, and technical oversight of equipment and material preservation activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will help ensure equipment, systems, materials, and installed assets are protected from deterioration, damage, contamination, corrosion, environmental exposure, and loss of functionality before turnover and startup. You will coordinate preservation requirements with engineering, construction, procurement, suppliers, quality, warehousing, commissioning, and project teams and support issue resolution, turnover, and readiness activities #LI-ME1 

Major Responsibilities:

• Support implementation of the project preservation program in accordance with project requirements, vendor recommendations, procedures, and industry practices.
• Review vendor documentation, storage instructions, maintenance recommendations, and preservation requirements for rotating equipment, static equipment, electrical equipment, instrumentation, packaged systems, bulk materials, and installed assets.
• Conduct field inspections and surveillance to verify lubrication, environmental controls, desiccant management, protective coatings, temporary heating, humidity control, equipment rotation, storage conditions, and other preservation activities.
• Coordinate preservation activities, schedules, inspection frequencies, responsibilities, and workface readiness with procurement, warehousing, construction, quality, commissioning, startup, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Maintain preservation records, inspection reports, maintenance logs, compliance documentation, and turnover information as equipment transitions from receipt and storage through installation, turnover, and commissioning.
• Identify preservation deficiencies, nonconformances, and risks that could affect equipment reliability, operational readiness, warranty compliance, startup, schedule, or cost; support corrective actions and mitigation strategies.
• Provide technical guidance on preservation requirements and support audits, readiness reviews, quality assessments, system walkdowns, turnover package development, and commissioning readiness.
• Support protection of equipment and materials during long-term storage, delayed installation, environmental exposure, construction, and turnover in accordance with vendor and project requirements.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience​
  
  
  
   

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of preservation principles for rotating equipment, static equipment, electrical systems, instrumentation, packaged equipment, bulk materials, and installed assets.
• Understanding of corrosion control, contamination prevention, environmental protection, storage requirements, lubrication systems, humidity control, desiccant management, protective coatings, temporary heating, and equipment rotation.
• Ability to interpret vendor manuals, engineering specifications, preservation procedures, storage instructions, warranty requirements, inspection criteria, and quality requirements.
• Understanding of construction sequencing, equipment receipt and storage, installation, turnover, commissioning, startup, and associated preservation documentation requirements.
• Organizational, communication, coordination, recordkeeping, and problem-solving skills, including use of construction management, completions, and digital inspection systems.
