Your Challenges Lays out, assembles, pre‑fits, and bonds a variety of metal, composite or laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins or equipment. Follows engineering and manufacturing specifications to determine parts to be bonded, and the temperature and pressure required. Cuts parts or materials to size. Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete the bonding cycle. Sands, burrs and smooths over areas. Applies sealing resins to cuts or exposed edges. Process methods and sequences vary depending on compounds, contours and lay‑up transitions. May perform complicated rework or repair. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with controlled procedures. Utilizes lay‑up tools (optical and hard tools) in the fabrication of composite and metal assemblies. Obtains required information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders and electronic documents. Uses shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments. Verifies work against instructions and engineering specifications. May perform additional duties as required by leadership, with training and certification provided. Your Boarding Pass Must be willing and able to work any shift. Workkeys Assessment completion OR High School Diploma/GED. Physical Requirements Onsite work environment. Vision: Daily ability to see and read computer screens, documents and engineering drawings. Hearing: Daily ability to hear conversations and safety warnings on the production floor. Speaking: Daily ability to speak in meetings and convey information. Equipment Operation: Daily ability to use personal computer, telephone, copier, fax and office equipment, plus production tools such as hydraulic lifts. Carrying: Several times a week, carry up to 30 lb. Lifting: Same as carrying. Pushing / Pulling: Small office furniture and equipment. Sitting: Daily long periods in meetings or on computer. Squatting / Kneeling: Several times a month. Standing: Daily. Walking: Through office, production areas, uneven surfaces, including flightline and airstrips. PPE: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks and protective gloves. Heights: Function at heights up to 40 ft; operate moving platforms, hydraulic lifts and forklifts.
