Electrical Engineer

Position: Electrical Engineer Location: Tulsa, OK Job Id: 6987 # of Openings: 1 As part of the Buildings team for Garver, this Electrical Engineer will be responsible for assessing existing facilities and developing electrical designs in support of various Buildings projects. Specifically, this responsibility will include a variety of projects related to investigating, planning, design, and commissioning of:Existing facilities components and systemsFacility electrical, lighting, telecommunications, security, and fire alarm systemsIn addition, this role will include coordination with other support disciplines and coordination with regional offices. Assisting project managers in the management of projects. Following quality assurance and quality control plans. Travel to project locations will be required.Abilities and attributes needed for this position:Ability to communicate with and interact with building owner representatives and architectural clientsParticipate in client relations and project pursuitsKnowledge of building components and systemsKnowledge of electrical engineering and sustainability principlesUtilizing CAD and BIM design software to produce construction drawingsAbility to perform electrical related calculationsUtilize Microsoft Excel-based calculation tools for design calculationsManage multiple assignments concurrentlyBe responsible for time management and product qualityKeep accurate and up-to-date project accounting on all assigned projectsFollow Quality Assurance and Quality Control PlansBe responsible for continuing education and learning based on project needs, as well as the overall needs of the teamRequirementsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering with an electrical focus from an ABET-accredited university of college.Registered Professional Engineer (PE)5 to 15 years of building design and construction industry experienceProven experience overseeing electrical designs, including detailed plans and specifications for building projectsTechnically competent in building electrical systems including power distribution systems, lighting systems, and telecommunications systems.Experience with Autodesk RevitMust have strong communication skillsMust be proficient with MS Office SuitePreferred SkillsWorked as an engineer sub-consultant to architectural building design firmsGrow With UsGarver offers its employees programs such as company-paid professional memberships, company support for industry licenses and continuing education opportunities that foster a progressive atmosphere.
