About the Position

RN – Emergency Room – Night Shift

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care in an Emergency Room in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The ideal candidate will have emergency nursing experience, strong clinical assessment skills, and the ability to respond quickly to critical and changing patient conditions.

The RN will assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor responses to treatment, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients' conditions, identify urgent needs, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Monitor patient responses to treatment and recognize changes in clinical status.

• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and patient deterioration.

• Coordinate patient care with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

• Manage pain and provide appropriate emergency nursing care.

• Document patient assessments, interventions, treatments, and incidents accurately.

• Delegate appropriate nursing tasks in accordance with professional standards.

• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions.

• Provide age-appropriate care while maintaining patient safety and confidentiality.

• Follow established clinical policies, procedures, and protocols.

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.

• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room RN experience .

• Active North Dakota RN license or applicable compact RN privilege.

• Current BLS certification.

• Current ACLS certification.

• Current PALS certification.

• Current NIHSS certification.

• Current TNCC certification; ENPC requirements should be verified.

• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and emergency response skills.

• Excellent communication and patient documentation abilities.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced emergency care environment.

Schedule & Assignment Details

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks.

• Location: Grand Forks, ND.

• Shift: Nights, typically 5:00 PM–5:00 AM.

• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week.

• Positions Available: 1.

• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week, with no guarantee by day.

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend.

• Weekend Scheduling: Friday–Sunday block scheduling may be considered; weekday block scheduling is not guaranteed.

• Holiday Coverage: Required, according to the unit schedule.

• Overtime: After 40 hours per week, in accordance with applicable requirements.
