Position Overview
The Utah Center for Evidence-Based Treatment (UCEBT) is seeking a licensed or license-eligible Psychologist Clinician whose primary clinical team will be the Anxiety & Mood (A&M) Program.
We are particularly interested in psychologists who have experience working with children and adolescents and who have specialized training or experience in evidence-based treatment for anxiety and mood concerns. Desired modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure-based therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
The successful candidate will provide evidence-based psychotherapy services to clients experiencing anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related concerns, depression and mood difficulties, emotional or behavioral challenges, and other complex mental health presentations. Depending on the clinician's training and interests, there may also be opportunities to provide psychological assessment and to participate in UCEBT's other clinical programs, including Assessment & Testing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma, Stress & Resilience (TSR).
Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical judgment, interpersonal warmth, openness to feedback, and an ongoing commitment to professional development and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Areas of Expertise
We are especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Child and adolescent psychology
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for anxiety and mood disorders
- Exposure-based treatment for anxiety disorders
- Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and related anxiety concerns
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Treatment of generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, phobias, and related conditions
- Treatment of depression and other mood-related concerns
- Parent consultation, parent coaching, and family-based interventions
- Evidence-based treatment of emotional and behavioral concerns in children and adolescents
- Psychological and diagnostic assessment
- ADHD, autism, learning, cognitive, personality, or emotional/behavioral assessment
- Evidence-based treatment of complex clinical presentations
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution
- Licensed as a psychologist in Utah or eligible to obtain Utah licensure
- Strong preference for candidates with experience working with children and adolescents
- Formal training or experience in evidence-based anxiety treatment, including CBT, exposure-based therapy, ERP, and/or ACT, strongly preferred
- Training or experience in psychological assessment strongly preferred
- Formal training and expertise in evidence-based psychological treatments
- Knowledge of DSM-5-TR diagnoses and diagnostic formulation
- Strong clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary clinical team
- Strong attention to documentation, treatment planning, and clinical follow-through
- Openness to consultation, supervision, feedback, and continued professional development

Clinical Responsibilities
- Maintain a caseload consistent with UCEBT full-time clinician expectations, generally 18-24 direct clinical hours per week
- Provide evidence-based individual psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and/or families based on areas of competency and interest
- Provide anxiety- and mood-focused assessment and treatment through the Anxiety & Mood Program
- Use CBT, exposure-based therapy, ERP, ACT, and/or other evidence-based anxiety and mood interventions when appropriately trained
- Conduct psychological and diagnostic assessments when within the clinician's training and competency
- Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
- Use outcome measures and ongoing assessment to guide treatment
- Maintain clinical documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Participate in clinical consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Communicate effectively with referring providers, families, schools, and other professionals when clinically appropriate and properly authorized
- Provide consultation regarding anxiety disorders, OCD, mood disorders, child and adolescent concerns, and other specialty clinical issues within areas of competency
- Maintain ethical, legal, and professional standards in all clinical activities
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in the Anxiety & Mood consultation team as the clinician's primary clinical team
- Participate in at least one additional UCEBT clinical program when appropriate based on expertise, interest, and center needs
- Engage in community outreach, including professional presentations, trainings, consultation, or collaboration with community partners
- Provide short-term EAP services as needed to support caseload balance
- Serve as a clinical representative on administrative or quality-improvement initiatives when appropriate
- Support trainees, postdoctoral fellows, and other clinicians through consultation when appropriate
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development
- Maintain individualized self-care practices with support from supervisors and colleagues
- Complete all charting and clinical documentation within established UCEBT timelines
- Fulfill applicable on-site clinician responsibilities to support consultation, collaboration, and trainee development
About the Anxiety & Mood Program
UCEBT's Anxiety & Mood (A&M) Program provides evidence-based treatment and consultation for individuals experiencing anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive and related concerns, depression and other mood difficulties, and associated emotional or behavioral challenges.
The program emphasizes individualized care grounded in current psychological science, with evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), exposure-based treatment, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) when clinically indicated. Clinicians use thoughtful case conceptualization, outcome monitoring, and collaborative treatment planning to guide care.
We are particularly interested in expanding our capacity to serve children and adolescents with anxiety and mood concerns, including developmentally appropriate treatment, parent consultation, family involvement, and coordination with schools or other providers when clinically appropriate.
