Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage

Job Overview A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of insurance coverage experience to join their New York, NY office. The candidate will analyze complex insurance policies and handle coverage-related disputes, contributing to high-stakes litigation cases nationwide. Duties Analyze insurance coverage issues involving professional lines claims, including D&O/management liability and E&O matters. Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and other coverage-related communications. Evaluate claims, policies, and underlying litigation materials to assess coverage obligations and potential exposure. Assist with coverage litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and related litigation materials. Advise insurance company clients on coverage matters and collaborate with claims professionals, adjusters, and other stakeholders. Communicate with clients and opposing counsel and participate in court hearings and oral arguments. Handle cyber coverage matters, as applicable. Requirements Active license to practice law in New York and in good standing. At least 3 years of experience handling insurance coverage matters under D&O, E&O, or EPL liability policies. Cyber coverage experience is a plus, but not mandatory. Strong ability to work collaboratively with partners, associates, paralegals, and law clerks. Exceptional legal writing, research, organizational, and advocacy skills. Experience in a billable-hour environment preferred. Education Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Certifications Active license to practice law in New York. Skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
