VIATERA Production Engineer\n\nTimpl has partnered with a leading global manufacturer of innovative building\nand industrial materials, specializing in surfaces, flooring, and automotive\ncomponents. And we are looking for a VIATERA Production Engineer\n\n\n\nPosition Summary:\n\nProviding technical support and management of product development and\nmanufacturing processes in order to achieve customers' expectations on the\nproducts as well as to identify strategies to modify or improve current products\nand processes. Evaluation and development of raw material performance and\nquality to improve the value of the product\n\n \n\nRole Description:\n\nThe management of product development involving, but not limited to product\nquality, process optimization, product management, chemical & mechanical\nlaboratory tests, reduction of cost via consolidation and modification\n\n \n\n \n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n• Process evaluation & management for product development\n\n• Devise and manage product development procedures\n\n• Management & evaluation of raw material performance on the products\n\n• Perform chemical & mechanical laboratory scale testing\n\n• Optimize manufacturing process and product quality\n\n• Identify ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems\n(modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of\nnon-value added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems)\n\n• Analyze and update the recycled material usage data and the changes made to\nthe manufacturing process, material chain of custody procedures, and BOMs for\nthe annual renewal and environmental priority certifications; NSF, SCS, and\nGreenguard\n\n• Communicate and exchange information with other departments to reach\ncustomers' expectations on the products; work as 1st point of contact for\ntechnical inquiry\n\n• Exchange knowledge and information with suppliers and other Company facilities\nto ensure best practices; raw materials and additives\n\n• Assist the production engineer to troubleshoot production issues and analyze\nproduction conditions\n\n• Support and perform Production Scheduler duties when necessary\n\n• Other duties as assigned.\n\n\n \n\n\nRequirements\n\nQualifications: \n\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each\nessential role and responsibility. Listed below are the minimum and/or desired\nrequirements of the position including education, work experience and knowledge\n& skills.\n\nEducation and Work Experience:\n\n• Experience in manufacturing environment\n\n• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related\nfield.\n\n \n\nKnowledge and Skills:\n\n• Excellent verbal and written communication skills\n\n• Management of Material Resources\n\n• Management of Personnel Resources\n\n• Time management\n\n• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word\n\n• SAP Fluency\n\n• General Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry\n\n• Chemistry Laboratory Testing\n\n• Computers and Electronics\n\n• Engineering and Technology\n\n• Mathematics\n\n• Production and Processing\n\n• Active Learning\n\n• Active Listening\n\n• Critical Thinking\n\n• Quality Control Analysis\n\n \n\nPhysical Demands:\n\n• Position requires sitting at a desk working on a computer for at least 2/3 of\ntime.\n\n• Position requires minimal lifting up to 25 lbs.\n\n• Position requires regular and reliable attendance.\n\n• Position requires local travel up to 10% of time.
