2025/2026 Special Education Teacher - Candidate Pool

Options for Youth (OFY) is a network of free, non‑profit public charter schools serving students in grades 7-12 who have fallen behind in school. We are seeking a certified special education teacher to provide individualized instruction and support to students with special needs. Pay and Employment Pay Range: $3,115.39 - $4,423.08 bi‑weekly, depending on experience. Job Type: Certificated. Responsibilities Provide instruction to students with special needs and identified learning disabilities in a specialized education program. Assess, tutor, and coach individual students and small groups to reinforce language and reading concepts. Administer and score individual and group tests, and record and maintain progress toward IEP goals. Schedule and conduct IEP meetings, coordinating schedules with parents, general education teachers, administrators, and other special education staff. Communicate and coordinate special needs evaluation and testing with the speech teacher, psychologist, and other service providers, and share student progress with parents. Support broader academic programs offered within the independent study program. Perform other duties in support of the Special Education Specialist program as required. Qualifications BA/BS Degree. California preliminary or clear education specialist instruction credential (Mild/Moderate). English Language Authorization (ELA).
