Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Workers' Compensation Paralegal to support attorneys in all aspects of workers' compensation litigation and claims management. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who exercises sound judgment, demonstrates strong common sense, anticipates case needs before they arise, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. This individual should be able to manage a high-volume caseload independently while maintaining exceptional client service and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume workers' compensation caseload from intake through resolution.
• Proactively monitor all case deadlines, hearing dates, statutes of limitation, and litigation milestones to ensure timely action.
• Anticipate attorney and client needs by identifying potential issues, gathering necessary documentation, and preparing files in advance of deadlines, hearings, and depositions.
• Prepare, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, settlement documents, and other legal filings accurately and timely.
• Maintain organized electronic and physical case files and ensure all documents are properly indexed and accessible.
• Communicate professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties involved in the claims process.
• Request, review, organize, and summarize medical records, wage records, employment records, and other supporting documentation.
• Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and client appointments while coordinating all necessary logistics.
• Prepare attorneys for hearings, mediations, and trials by organizing exhibits, evidence, witness materials, and case summaries.
• Draft correspondence, legal memoranda, settlement documents, and routine pleadings.
• Maintain accurate billing entries and time records, as applicable.
• Follow up consistently on outstanding requests, medical records, authorizations, and other pending items without requiring frequent direction.
• Identify problems early, recommend practical solutions, and communicate concerns promptly to attorneys.
• Provide exceptional client service by keeping clients informed of case progress, responding promptly to inquiries, and treating every client with professionalism and empathy.
• Perform additional legal and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or Paralegal Certificate from an accredited program preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of workers' compensation paralegal experience preferred.
• Thorough understanding of workers' compensation procedures, litigation timelines, and administrative processes.
• Experience with case management software, document management systems, and electronic filing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) REQUIRED
