How you'll make an impact in this role
- Interview patients to assess sleep disorder issues and explain the testing procedures. Prepare both the patient and the necessary equipment for the ordered testing.
- Perform and accurately document sleep studies. Continuously monitor the patient during testing, intervening as required to address patient needs or resolve equipment malfunctions.
- Collect, analyze, and integrate patient data to identify and address patient-specific requirements. Score, interpret, and report the results of the sleep studies.
- Prepare, calibrate, and maintain the equipment used for testing, including performing repairs and reporting any required replacements.
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- One or more of the following required:
- Cert Polysomnographic Tech credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Respiratory Therapist specializing in Registered credentialed from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Reg Polysomnographic Tchnlgst credentialed from the Board of Registered Polysomnograhic Technologists (BRPT) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- Sleep Technician credentialed from the American Board of Sleep Medicine (ABSM) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
- High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- RPSGT certification preferred.
- Experience in a pediatric sleep lab preferred.
- Knowledge of Natus and or Alice software preferred.
