Maintenance Mechanic

This role supports a busy production plant by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing facility equipment and systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The Maintenance Mechanic performs a wide range of mechanical tasks, documents all work completed, and helps maintain productivity and cost-effectiveness in a high-demand environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facility equipment and systems regularly to identify wear, damage, or potential issues before they impact operations.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment to ensure safe and reliable performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical issues, diagnose root causes, and implement effective repairs in a timely manner.
• Complete mechanical assembly tasks, including installing, aligning, and securing mechanical components and equipment.
• Carry out fabrication work as needed, such as cutting, fitting, and assembling metal components or structures to support plant operations.
• Repair and adjust industrial equipment to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Document all maintenance activities accurately, including inspections, repairs, parts used, and work completed, in accordance with facility procedures.
• Work safely around industrial equipment and in an outdoor environment, following all safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize tasks and support continuous plant operations.
• Support the plant during busy periods by working overtime and occasional Saturdays as needed to meet customer demand.

Essential Skills

• Basic mechanical abilities and aptitude for working with tools and mechanical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform maintenance and repairs on facility equipment.
• Experience with mechanical assembly, including installing and aligning mechanical components.
• Capability to perform fabrication tasks such as cutting, fitting, and assembling mechanical or metal parts.
• Strong focus on safety when working with industrial equipment and in an outdoor environment.
• Ability to document maintenance work clearly and accurately.
• Willingness and ability to work Monday through Friday with some Saturdays as needed and to work overtime during busy summer months.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working in an industrial or production plant environment.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in diagnosing and repairing equipment issues.

Work Environment

This role operates in an outdoor work environment around industrial equipment within a production plant setting. The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required when needed, and overtime is likely during busy summer months. The position involves working in and around industrial machinery, following safety procedures, and adapting to varying outdoor conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hutchins, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.50 - $25.00/hr.
