Assistant Director of Nursing - RN - Fulltime - Hourly (85288)

Primary Responsibilities The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in ensuring the provision of quality care that promotes the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychological well-being of each resident as determined by assessments and individual plans of care. Essential Functions Administrative Functions Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct day‑to‑day nursing department functions in accordance with rules, regulations, and facility policies. Assist in determining staffing needs, recruitment, hiring, training, and scheduling to ensure adequate staff for each shift. Supervise staff to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently. Participate in the facility’s nursing on‑call schedule and perform any other duties deemed reasonable by the Director of Nursing. Quality of Care Develop and regularly evaluate methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services, ensuring continuity of care in line with regulations. Communicate with attending physicians, medical directors, and families regarding resident care issues as needed. Staffing Assist in determining staffing needs and developing work assignments and schedules. Verify sufficient nursing staff for each shift to meet daily care needs. Quality Assurance Assist in the daily startup process for the facility. Participate in developing, maintaining, and implementing the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department. Serve on the Quality Assurance Committee as assigned. Other Responsibilities Review resident clinical records and consultant reports, implementing plans of correction. Assist with MDS assessments and care plans when required. Participate in the review of compliance actions regarding regulatory reports. Qualifications Educational/Training Requirements Must have completed an RN program at an accredited vocational school, college, or university. Licensing Requirements Must possess a current Texas RN Licensure. Experience Requirements Must have at least three years of experience working in a skilled nursing facility. Preferred: current RUG certification. Physical Demands The role requires regular lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, sliding/transfer of amounts ranging from 1 to 50+ lbs, as well as standing, sitting, walking, speaking, driving, balancing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, hearing, seeing, and turning/twisting.
