Responsible for across-the-board manufacturing processes including machining, lapping, polishing, and clean room processes.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the Company Quality Management System and apply Quality Procedures and Operating Procedures as appropriateApply lean manufacturing concepts, problem solving tools such as Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC), 8D, etc.Evaluates existing manufacturing methods and sequences and recommends/implements improvements that increase efficiency, reduce cost, reduce waste, etcCoordinate installation and qualification of manufacturing equipmentParticipates in the Material Review Board (MRB) recommending alternate process configurations that result in the conservation of materialCreates manufacturing methods from prints provided by customers to achieve specificationsTake measurements using techniques such as hand gages (including calipers and micrometers), coordinate measurement machines (CMMs), and surface finish profilometerUnderstands and can apply process control (SPC) and measurement systems analysis (MSA)Prepares reports/presentations by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trendsFollow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Engineering Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of ManufacturingPerform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments and assisting senior engineersPerform other duties as assigned by department managementQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or related discipline plus 2-3 years' experienceIn lieu of degree, 7+ years of relevant manufacturing and problem solving experienceAbility to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, including specifications, customer and internal drawingsUnderstanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)Understanding of problem solving tools such as cause & effect, design of experiment (DOE) and follow problem solving process such as A3, DMAIC, or 8DAbility to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as trigonometry, algebra and statistical techniques.Ability to utilize software such as Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint. Preferred ability to use Access and statistical software (Minitab, JMP)Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environmentMust be able to pay close attention to detailsMust be comfortable talking to various levels within the company as well as customersPhysical Demands:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
