Innovations Strategist

Innovation Strategist Pay Range: $86,500 - $145,000 annually. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation. Job Type: Unclassified Department: Assessor About the Position The Innovation Strategist identifies, evaluates, and implements emerging capabilities, technologies, and innovative solutions that advance the Assessor's Office's strategic priorities and continuous improvement efforts. Reporting to the Director of Administration, this position partners with business leaders across the organization to lead process improvement initiatives, drive innovation, and enhance operational effectiveness. The Innovation Strategist fosters a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement by encouraging staff to embrace new ideas, solve problems, and adopt innovative approaches that deliver meaningful value to customers, stakeholders, and employees. Responsibilities Lead and inspire the organization to embrace innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement by fostering an enterprise-wide culture of collaboration, learning, and responsible experimentation. Identify, evaluate, and advance emerging technologies, business models, and innovative practices that support organizational priorities and long-term strategic objectives. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership by evaluating business challenges, emerging technologies, market trends, organizational needs, and recommending innovation strategies that support organizational objectives. Identify and assess opportunities for innovation by understanding business challenges, stakeholder needs, customer expectations, and employee ideas. Analyze existing business processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and opportunitiesх for improvement through process redesign, automation, or technology adoption. Build and manage an innovation pipeline by evaluating and prioritizing ideas and initiatives to ensure alignment with strategic plans, operational goals, and customer service objectives. Collaborate with business units and senior leadership to develop, pilot, implement, launch, and scale innovation initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise to support enterprise technology initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and cross‑functional process improvement projects. Support change management efforts by partnering with business units to develop and implement communication, training, and adoption strategies for new processes, technologies, and ways of working. Facilitate training sessions and collaborative workshops with business units to identify improvement opportunities, strengthen organizational capabilities, and promote innovation. Monitor, evaluate, and report on the outcomes of innovation initiatives using performance measures to ensure alignment with organizational objectives and continuous improvement. Establish team goals, work plans, and performance metrics aligned with organizational priorities and the department's strategic initiatives. Oversee team performance, resource allocation, and workload planning to ensure high‑quality analytical deliverables and the timely execution of process improvement and innovation projects. Qualifications Three years of managing projects that focus on process improvement initiatives or IT related projects that require the support of technology. Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Public Administration, or related field. A combination of post‑secondary education and/or job‑related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year‑for‑year basis. Preferred Experience Experience using business process improvement techniques, such as Lean or Six Sigma.
