Maintenance Mechanic

We are looking to hire a key member of our Operations team at our Savannah, Georgia location. The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance on process and production equipment throughout the facility. Duties may include but are not limited to pipe fitting, welding, sheet metal fabrication, repairing electrical or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment and preventative maintenance with the goal of improving facility and process reliability. Work shifts may include 8- or 12-hour shifts, which will be days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays. Plant operations occur in a 24/7 environment and required work includes work that may be in inclement weather, as part of confined space entry or as part of a confined space team and may occur at heights up to 150 feet. Participation in Confined Space, Emergency Response, and Safety programs and processes are required. Some of the benefits offered are: Medical Insurance, including TeleDoc - multiple plans available with Flexible Spending Account & Health Savings Account options Dental & Vision Insurance Health Advocate – free support to help you understand your coverage and answer questions Life Insurance – base coverage paid for by Kraton with option for additional coverage 401k – Kraton provides matching contributions based on enrollment level Employee Assistance Program – provided at no cost to employees Accident, Disability, and Critical Illness Insurance Key Responsibilities Observe all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including the use of personal protective equipment; report all injuries, accidents and hazards immediately Perform mechanical, electrical, electronic repair and preventive maintenance Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs in a timely manner Read equipment manuals as needed assure appropriate operation and repair of equipment Complete, and maintain efficient and accurate paperwork as needed Install and Dismantle Equipment Mechanical Tools, Equipment, and Systems Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with specifications and codes Computer skills - Able to use available computer systems and MS Office products with little or no assistance Communicating effectively and working with others – Able to work with peers and engineering support to develop and implement solutions to problems/issues Problem Solving / Troubleshooting – Able to obtain, analyze and interpret data/information and develop solutions to issues/problems Read Technical Drawings and Blueprints Troubleshooting Required Skills Pipefitting, pipe assembly and installation – Preferred Steam tracing repairs Equipment Lubrication Install and Dismantle Equipment Pump rebuilds and installation – preferred Maintain Equipment Knowledge and understanding of up to 480v electrical circuits – preferred Mechanical Tools, Equipment, and Systems Operate Machines Repair Machines and Equipment Troubleshooting Chemical industry experience is a plus Must have Industrial experience Education, Certifications & Licenses High School Diploma/GED Required 4-year maintenance apprenticeship or journeyman certification or similar structured training program with equivalent work experience is required The statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
