What you will do:

• Provide high-quality nocturnal inpatient care to adult patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Manage an average census of 15-18 patients with approximately 8 admissions during each 12-hour shift.
• Collaborate closely with support staff and utilize the EPIC EMR system to ensure accurate documentation.
• Uphold safety protocols, including vaccines, BLS, ACLS, and maintain current licenses and certifications.
• Enjoy a consistent 7-on/7-off schedule from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., with opportunities for PRN fill-in shifts as needed.

Required skills and qualifications:

• Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active North Carolina medical license and DEA registration (must have in-hand to apply)
• BLS and ACLS certified
• Proficient in EMR documentation; EPIC experience preferred
• Strong clinical skills within the scope of hospital medicine
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced inpatient environment and work independently during night shifts

Nice to have skills:

• Prior hospitalist or nocturnist experience
• Familiarity with hospital workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Additional certifications or training in critical care or hospital medicine

Preferred education and experience:

• Graduate of an accredited medical school with completion of residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Previous hospitalist experience preferred, but enthusiasm and capability are valued

Other requirements:

• Willingness to work night shifts on a 7-on/7-off schedule
• Valid licensure in North Carolina and active DEA registration
• Vaccinations as mandated by hospital policy
