Sterile Processing Technician

This position is responsible for the decontamination, processing, assembly, sterilization, and storage of surgical instrumentation and medical equipment. The Sterile Processing Technician will work within the Central Sterile Supply department, including Sterile Processing and Distribution, and may rotate across multiple areas as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate and sterilize surgical instruments following established protocols.
• Process, assemble, and store surgical instrumentation and medical equipment.
• Assemble case carts for surgical procedures.
• Maintain the cleanliness and operational readiness of the work environment.
• Identify instruments and ensure proper handling during processing.

Qualifications:

• 4-5 years of experience in a hospital setting involving sterilization, decontamination, processing, assembly, storing, and distribution of surgical instrumentation and medical supplies.
• Experience operating Olympus OER washers is required.
• Current certification in Sterile Processing (e.g., CR-CST or CBSPD) is required.
• Ability to work as part of a team and effectively communicate with colleagues.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and be capable of lifting equipment as necessary.

Work Schedule:

This position will involve an 8-hour day shift starting at 9:00 AM, with the requirement to be on call for weekends on a rotating basis, as well as working on minor holidays.
