Occupational Therapy Assistant

Scope of Work

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, under the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist, provides occupational therapy services to patients/clients to assist in improving basic motor functions, reasoning abilities, compensating for permanent loss of function by teaching patients/clients to perform tasks in their daily living and working environments. May provide treatment to patients/clients with cognitive impairment, psychosocial dysfunction and physical disability. Assists with patient/clients and caregiver education.

Standard Qualifications

• Required Associate's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university occupational therapy assistant program.
• Familiar with industrial rehab and ergonomics preferred.
• CRT-Occupational Therapy Assistant, Certified (COTA) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certified or eligible Upon Hire required
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association preferred Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross preferred
• License Driver's License State of MI Home Care Lines
