Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview Registered Nurse, Med Surg | Travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii | Start 08/31/2026 | 13 weeks | $1,877–$1,971 per week | Night shift | Acute care setting. After a first full week of orientation, you are scheduled for 36 hours per week with no guaranteed hours. This travel role requires eligibility for Hawaii licensure by start date and ongoing compliance with facility health requirements. Key Highlights

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical patients, including routine assessments and monitoring
• Administer medications and document care in the Meditech EMR; manage medication dispensing via Pyxis
• Support wound care needs (e.g., wound vac) and assist with chest tube management as appropriate
• Collaborate with the care team to develop and adjust patient care plans; respond to call lights and urgent needs
• Assist with patient turnover, discharge planning, and coordination with ancillary services
• May float to Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit as assigned; maintain clinical competency across units

Requirements

• Hawaii RN license active by start date (or eligibility and must obtain Hawaii license prior to start)
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• 2–10 years of Med Surg nursing experience
• Ability to work nights; flex to various shift lengths and days; may float to designated units
• Proof of flu vaccination or facility-approved exception required prior to contract start date
• Graduate of an approved nursing program with eligibility to practice as an RN in Hawaii
