Research Assistant, Hoxworth Blood Center, Clinical Research Job Title: Research Assistant, Hoxworth Blood Center, Clinical Research Posting Start Date: 4/22/26 Work Arrangement: Onsite Job Overview: Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC) is a university‑affiliated regional blood center that conducts research in transfusion medicine and cell therapies. The Clinical Research Department seeks a full‑time (100% FTE) Research Assistant to assist in the execution of SOP‑driven research projects in pre‑clinical and clinical trials. Essential Functions: Perform experiments and record data according to research protocols. Interpret data and assist in judging validity of data; may perform statistical and graphical analysis. May assist in animal colony management and animal husbandry. Apply research principles for less complex assignments. Perform related duties based on departmental need; this job description may change at any time. Required Education: Bachelor's Degree. Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or specialized training may be used in lieu of education. Required Experience: Additional related experience may be required depending on field. Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Sitting – continuously Repetitive hand motion (typing) – often Hearing, listening – often Talking – often Standing – often Walking – often Bending – often Stooping – often Lifting – up to 20 pounds – often Kneeling, squatting – seldom Noise – sufficient to require shouting to be heard. Hazards – exposure to moving mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, scaffolding, chemicals. Atmospheric Conditions – fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, poor ventilation.
